Infant & Child Sleep Consultants

Sleep – Little Bodies Depend On It

Our Philosophy

We’ll gently guide you to better sleep for your child…

La le Lu Sleep Consultancy believes that achieving restful sleep starts with the nurturing of the parents. We focus on encouraging and supporting Mums and Dads throughout the process, so they can feel secure and confident when implementing sleep changes for their baby/child. We understand that all babies/children are unique in their own way and therefore need to be approached with compassion, kindness and as precious individuals.

Each Child Is Unique

We’ll customise our sleep plans according to your child’s temperament and personality…

We feel passionate about embarking on a unique journey with each of our clients. From the introduction right through to the end, we want each family to feel completely supported and have the necessary confidence to create healthy sleep habits that will last a lifetime.

The need for sleep is biological, but falling asleep is a learnt skill

What’s In a Name?

Bringing together a touch of German mixed with Australian traditions.

”La le Lu” is a very famous German lullaby which is sung regularly to millions of little German children every night. Similar to our version of rock-a-bye baby. Our name combines a special part of the German heritage as that’s where half of this team was raised. Lullabies bring back many fond memories for parents, allowing them to relive their childhood, when singing them over and over again to their own babies/children.

La le Lu Sleep Consultancy is a passion project created by City of Melbourne and Inner West Melbourne locals Sabrina and Kate. Both Internationally Accredited Infant and Child Sleep Consultants with a long career history in childcare and early childhood development.

Meet The Team

Two is more supportive than one…

Joining together in business has helped us create a better network locally and abroad. We work together on all clients to start with before branching off as individual consultants for a more one-on-one approach. Having each other to create individually-tailored sleep plans for each family helps us get a better understanding and a clearer outlook. We both have different strengths and can really help each other go the extra mile. This is amazing value for families as you essentially get to benefit from the knowledge and insight of two sleep consultants for the price of one.

As sleep consultants working with babies and children from 3 weeks up to 5 years, we take into consideration each client’s goals, circumstances and parenting approach and develop a strategy that will work within your family. We give each family the option to choose a method they feel like is best suited to them. We pride ourselves in creating a unique and special approach.

Our qualifications have come from science-based studies. We both chose studies that were designed around the science and evidence component. Our focus is on the “3 Why’s”: Why we think something is an issue, Why a sleep issue is happening and Why we are suggesting a certain solution.

Meet Kate

A mother of three children, aged 9, 6 and 4 years, who has also had a long career within the childhood industry. She has a Cert III and Diploma in Early Childhood as well as many years of experience in working as a nanny here and overseas. She has worked in kindergartens and day-care centres prior to having her own children. Kate has a strong passion for sleep after personal experience of very little with her second child. Desperate for help, she enlisted the help of a wonderful sleep consultant and never looked back. This is where her dedication to step into this field grew. Kate’s biggest passion is being the parents’ biggest cheerleader, providing them with confidence and encouragement. Happy mum, happy baby. Kate loves Pilates and being sociable. She loves spending time with her family and relaxation.

“Sleep is so essential for little ones and having the knowledge and understanding around age appropriate awake windows, settling techniques and babies’/children’s needs has really helped me not only in my chosen career but as a mother. I wanted to be able to help vulnerable parents out there, who are struggling, to see through the fog. Having a gentler approach and providing parent-friendly strategies to help understand the importance of sleep. When babies understand what to expect, it allows them to truly grow and develop in a positive way.”

Meet Sabrina

A mother of two energetic boys, aged 9 and 2.5 years, who is also a local nanny and babysitter. She has spent the last 17 years working with many families as a nanny and helping out in kindergartens and primary schools in Australia, New Zealand, England and Germany. Sabrina is the German half of this company and was born and raised there. She moved to Australia with her New Zealand husband when her eldest was 1.5 years old and has never looked back. After years of sleep deprivation she decided she wanted to research the biology of sleep and sleep patterns and start helping families solve their sleep issues to save them from experiencing what she did. With a passion for young children and both a personal and professional knowledge spanned over many years Sabrina is well aware of the long-term effects of sleep deprivation. Sabrina loves to travel and is an excellent cook. She is meticulous when it comes to just about everything and loves spending time teaching and learning with her boys.

“After years of getting up numerous times throughout the night and not understanding where I was going wrong with the boys’ sleep, I started to develop an interest in researching and studying the subject of sleep. I wanted to learn as much as I possibly could about all aspects of sleep and what it can be affected by. I chose this very rewarding career, because I am really committed to making a difference to many families in a way that suits each one, by helping them and their babies/children get the restful sleep we all need to function, develop and grow.”
